By Geneviève Cournoyer-Scalise November 02 2020

MONTREAL, NOVEMBER 2ND, 2020 — As 2020 has been challenging and brought its share of difficulties to overcome, Cargolution announces its involvement with United Way/Centraide to warm hearts during this holiday season, which is coming very soon.

Cargolution gets involved with United Way/Centraide’s campaign starting today, with the launch of its online fundraiser, which will run from November 2, 2020, to January 4, 2021. The funds raised will be donated entirely to United Way/Centraide, which will channel the funds to local organizations working in our communities and where the needs are most pressing.

In addition to this initiative, we are proud to announce that Cargolution will make a corporate donation to United Way/Centraide,” says Daniel Soucy, President of Cargolution. “Meanwhile, we invite all our partners to join us in garnishing the table for our neighbours, families, and friends whose lucky star will be shining less brightly this year. We are counting on your generosity to contribute to our campaign according to your financial means. Together, we can make a real difference for those in need as we can help them face these challenging times. I am convinced that our demand to support our communities will resonate within the transport and logistics industry,” adds Mr. Soucy.

How to Make a Donation

It is quick and easy to contribute to the “Cargolution Gets Involved with United Way / Centraide” fundraising campaign. You are just a click away from our secure web link: https://bit.ly/UnitedWayCargolution.

The amount of the donation is at your discretion. Both, personal donations and donations made on behalf of an organization are welcome. United Way/Centraide is responsible for issuing a tax receipt to all Canadian donors contributing to Cargolution’s fundraiser campaign.

As we have an office located in Dorval, Quebec, and a second one in Mississauga, Ontario, it was essential for us to hold a campaign running simultaneously in both provinces. Thus, each donor has the option of contributing to the community of their choice.

Different Ways to Get Involved

To encourage the involvement and mobilization of the entire Cargolution family in our campaign, virtual or small group activities will be proposed and added to our internal calendar. “We realize this is a challenging time for everyone, which is why we encourage our employees to contribute through various activities to our fundraising campaign. This is a first experience for all of us, but we are very excited to get involved with an organization that helps and supports our local communities,” said Carole St-Cyr, Vice-President of Cargolution.

Why Support United Way/Centraide?

United Way/Centraide’s mission is to break the cycle of poverty and social exclusion in order to make our community a better place for all, and to the benefit of all. Thanks to their territorial analysis, the organization invests where the needs are most pressing and strategically adapts its actions according to the reality of each neighborhood.

Centraide of Greater Montreal

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Centraide of Greater Montreal has worked tirelessly to help those in need in our local communities.

More than 550 front-line organizations in Greater Montreal have received financial support. More than 60% of them were not a part of the usual Centraide/United Way network.

Centraide reaches 500,000 people in Greater Montreal, which is one person (1) out of seven (7) only in this region.

Each year, the organization helps 2.9 million people across Peel, Toronto, and York Region with a network of 280 agencies that provide direct help daily. That is 7.5 M invested monthly in the region alone.

The GTA is the poverty capital of Canada, and this crisis will continue to impact our community for weeks, months, and even years to come.
